Attaccato da uno squalo Tamayo Perry, surfista e attore di Pirati dei Caraibi, trovato morto
Tamayo Perry, 49-year-old famous surfer and actor, met a shocking end on Sunday, June 23rd, when he was attacked and killed by a shark while surfing off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii.
Perry was surfing off Goat Island, also known as Mokuauia, near Laie, when a witness on the beach reported seeing him bitten repeatedly by a shark. Rescuers immediately responded with jet skis around 1:00 p.m., bringing the actor’s body ashore, where they unfortunately could only confirm his death.
Originally from Oahu, Tamayo Perry had appeared in Lost, Hawaii Five-0, as well as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. He was also known for his role as a lifeguard and surf instructor.
Oahu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, speaking at a press conference following the incident, described Perry’s death as “a tragic loss,” explaining that “Tamayo was a legendary and highly respected waterman, raised right here, and a key member of our ocean safety team.” The mayor also requested privacy for the family during this time. Ocean safety chief Kurt Lager also remarked, “Tamayo Perry was a beloved lifeguard, well-known on the North Shore, a professional surfer known worldwide. Tamayo’s personality was infectious and, as much as people loved him, he loved others even more. Our condolences go out to Tamayo’s family.”
Tourists and beachgoers have been warned to stay out of the water, with shark warning signs posted throughout the area.
