Le piccole e medie imprese italiane falliscono nel gestire adeguatamente i rischi informatici

Il secondo Rapporto Cyber Index PMI, presentato presso la sede di Confindustria, misura lo stato di consapevolezza delle PMI italiane sulla gestione dei rischi cyber. Realizzato da Generali e Confindustria, con il supporto scientifico del Politecnico di Milano e dell’Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale, il Rapporto evidenzia la necessità di promuovere la cultura dei rischi cyber tra le imprese di piccole e medie dimensioni. Sebbene vi sia una maggiore attenzione sulla materia, manca un approccio strategico definito. Le PMI italiane devono potenziare le loro difese digitali per affrontare le crescenti minacce informatiche. La collaborazione pubblico-privato e la sensibilizzazione sul tema sono cruciali per la protezione delle imprese.

Presentazione del Rapporto Cyber Index PMI presso Confindustria

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Recently, a report was presented at the headquarters of Confindustria, the second Cyber Index PMI report, which measures the awareness level of small and medium-sized Italian companies in terms of cyber risk management. Developed by Generali and Confindustria, with scientific support from the Observatory Cybersecurity & Data Protection of the School of Management at the Polytechnic University of Milan and the participation of the National Cybersecurity Agency, the Cyber Index PMI highlights and monitors the level of cyber risk knowledge within business organizations over time, as well as the approaches adopted by them to manage these risks.

“The cybersecurity is a fundamental pillar for the resilience and growth of our economic system. Strengthening digital security means protecting the future of our companies and the entire production system, creating a safer and more competitive ecosystem,” said Angelo Camilli, Vice President for Credit, Finance, and Tax of Confindustria. Barbara Lucini, responsible for Country Sustainability & Social Responsibility at Generali Italy, highlighted the significant role of the human factor in cybersecurity threat management. In a context of increasing complexity, initiatives like this aim to increase awareness and adoption of effective practices within companies.

“The small and medium-sized enterprises play a fundamental role in the growth of our economy but are increasingly targeted by cyber attacks,” explained Bruno Frattasi, Director-General of the National Cybersecurity Agency. The Agency is committed to supporting businesses in improving cyber resilience, including through public-private collaboration and the adoption of new European regulations such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act.

Pietro Labriola, Delegate of the President of Confindustria for Digital Transition, emphasized the importance of adopting a strategic approach to cybersecurity. Confindustria is dedicated to supporting companies, facilitating access to resources and promoting necessary changes to enhance the country’s growth. Investing in secure technologies, enhancing skills, and building a public-private collaboration system is essential for effective protection, especially for SMEs.

In conclusion, the Cyber Index PMI report reveals the ongoing need for increased promotion of cyber risk culture among small and medium-sized business organizations. The report highlights the average Cyber Index value of 52 out of 100 for the 1,005 PMIs involved, showing a slight increase from 2023. The report indicates areas for improvement, such as the need for a strategic approach, better risk understanding, and implementation of risk mitigation measures.

La necessità di maggiore consapevolezza sulla cybersecurity per le PMI italiane

Il Rapporto Cyber Index PMI evidenzia l’importanza della sicurezza informatica per le piccole e medie imprese italiane, che giocano un ruolo fondamentale nell’economia del Paese. Tuttavia, nonostante una lieve crescita nel livello di consapevolezza rispetto all’anno precedente, le PMI mostrano ancora una scarsa comprensione dei rischi cyber e una mancanza di approccio strategico.

I dati raccolti mostrano che solo una piccola percentuale di PMI ha un approccio maturo e consapevole alla cybersecurity, mentre la maggior parte delle aziende è classificata come informata o addirittura principiante. Questo ritardo nella maturità delle PMI rappresenta una sfida importante, considerando il costante aumento degli attacchi informatici a livello globale.

È fondamentale che le aziende italiane comprendano l’importanza di proteggere i propri asset critici e adottino misure preventive efficaci. In un contesto in cui le minacce cyber diventano sempre più sofisticate, è necessario un cambio di mindset rispetto alla gestione dei rischi, considerandola come parte integrante della trasformazione digitale e della sicurezza aziendale.

Per affrontare questa sfida, è essenziale promuovere una maggiore cultura dei rischi cyber tra le PMI e fornire loro strumenti e supporto concreti. Iniziative come il Cyber Index PMI e i workshop di formazione territoriale possono contribuire a sensibilizzare le imprese e proteggerle dal crimine informatico, garantendo una maggiore resilienza operativa e una maggiore sicurezza nel mondo digitale in continua evoluzione.
